But when I first tried this before I saw your video, my laptop never picked up my Phillips or Emerson TV. Should I preset my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop to something?

I have been following you with knitting, I just stumbled across this and you’re doing this also. You are great!! You make everything so very easy. Even better I’m using the same type laptop you are. Keep up the excellent work.

@blackknight509 Thank you. My new laptop has Windows 7. I still have Vista on my older desktop but I have never had any problems with it.

  9. blackknight509 Says:

    Good tutorial.

-But Vista sucks! hope you have windows 7 by now. or XP. even Linux is good.

  10. tjw1963 Says:

@yotcral66 The computer may not always automatically pick up the TV. If they are analog TV’s, they may not work.

You will have additional settings available in the graphics properties when you have a live connection

@tjw1963 alright thank you very much!

  15. tjw1963 Says:

@alpena1wheeler The S-video will be all you need for a video connection. Sound does not come through the S-video so you will need to connect with some computer speaker or the sound will be from the laptop speakers.

  16. alpena1wheeler Says:

    confused.
im gunna buy the s-video cable… what else do i need?

  17. Jesus92ist Says:

@hunnybakedgoodness i *think* you could try a 7 prong s video with the rca inputs (yellow red white) on the other end.. atleast that is what i’m going to try myself asap..

  22. nolabush25 Says:

  25. tjw1963 Says:

@hunnybakedgoodness There are so many different types of connections, that you will have to research to see if one has been made for what you have available.
